From 1984 to 1994, Mr. Chapman worked for the Office of the Attorney General and served as a Deputy Attorney General representing the Nevada Department of Transportation in eminent domain cases. He handled jury trials, and successfully concluded many other cases by settlement. His experience involved takings for highways and freeways in all parts of the state, and included both total and partial acquisitions of land and improvements, including acquisitions of billboards. He also worked with the relocation program advising the department on the benefits for which all persons displaced by a project are eligible.

In 1994, Mr. Chapman started his private law practice. In his current practice, he represents private property owners and condemning agencies. He has handled cases involving takings for freeway projects and redevelopment projects, and has kept abreast of all major projects (redevelopment, roads and freeways, flood control etc.) occurring in all areas of the state.

Mr. Chapman received his law degree at the University of Idaho. He is affiliated with the State Bar of Nevada, the Washoe County Bar Association, the Clark County Bar Association, and the Associated General Contractors.
